Dining

people_on_beach_2.jpgOur guest dining room serves breakfast, lunch and dinner incorporating a variety of French, English and Island style cuisine, all prepared using fresh local produce.

Mary and our bevy of local staff bake delicious loaves of crusty bread every day and if the sea is kind, the men go out fishing and we serve fresh fish or local lobster, or else you may have the chance to sample some of Vanuatu's famous beef. In Tanna we try to use as much local produce as possible, almost all organic and grown in the local villagers, but due to seasonality and availability we do have to fly in some food items. Fresh water is drawn from our own well, bottled water is also available.

If you have vegetarian or dietary requirements, please let us know in advance and we can cater for your special needs.

If you want to go trekking, we can pack a lunch for you to take with you on your adventure.

A wide selection of soft drinks and alcoholic beverages are also available and we are very happy to organize local Kava, the special ceremonial drink of Vanuatu using the root of the Kava plant, on request.

Please note that although you can bring food items such as biscuits, fruit etc, we ask you to please bring it in a strong sealable container as we are located amongst the jungle and we try our best to ensure we don't attract any pests.

Due to Tanna's remote proximity there are no self catering facilities and no shops nearby.

Massage

In Tanna massage_hut.jpgisland massage is regarded as a gift, usually handed down from mother to daughter or grandmother to one special granddaughter in her family. At Friendly Bungalows we have a massage hut built on the edge of our sand beach under the cool shade of the leafy big trees where you can be lulled by the sound of the ocean and soothed by the hands of island massage.

Laundry

There is a laundry service provided by our staff, please just ask.

Books and games

We have a small library of books and games free for you to use during your stay.

A newspaper, if we have one, will be a treasured possession. You are in Tanna!!
