Friendly Bungalows is located 6km away from Mt Yasur volcano right on the quiet secluded sand beach of Lowelkas Cove.
The bungalows are made in the traditional Melanesian way…the communities get together, the men pulling and carrying the timber and bamboo, the women weaving the grass matting and amidst a lot of laughing and singing, a house is born out of many hands work. One of these bungalows, each with it’s own name, is your home while you are here in Tanna.
Our local managers, Mary and Jessel Niavia and their extended families from surrounding villages will make you feel very welcome.
Friendly Bungalows is close to all the amazing activities, the sights and sounds of real Tanna, just how you imagine it to be. About 1 hour in our 4WD across the mountain chain, through the jungle villages, right across the middle of Tanna and you are there. You can just relax, knowing everything you came to see and experience is only a stones throw away.
Port Resolution, the John Frum Cult village, waterfalls in dense jungle accessed by our Friendly guides, hot mineral springs and the friendly faces of custom life and custom villages are all close by.
Friendly Bungalows is a small piece of real paradise, tucked away in a part of our Mother Earth where time stands still and life begins.
